Every student should know the guidelines for the Alberta High School Diploma. It is the students’ responsibility to ensure that they have completed all the requirements to earn their High School Diplomas and be eligible to graduate at Connections for Learning.
If you're unsure about meeting the Grad requirements, please book an appointment with CFL Student Services.
Knowledge and Employability Program (KAE) Knowledge and Employability courses provide students with opportunities to experience success and become well prepared for employment, further studies, citizenship and lifelong learning. Staff at CFL will ensure that students are enrolled in courses that are appropriate to their highest level of achievement.
Students enrolled in the KAE program will achieve a Certificate of High School Achievement once they successfully complete 80 credits in an appropriate combination of KAE and other high school courses. Some students may transition successfully from KAE to other courses in order to achieve a high school diploma or to continue education and training opportunities.
Knowledge and Employability courses are available to students in Grades 10 through 12 who have been recommended from their previous school and have a recent psycho-educational assessment. A consent to enrol form must be completed by parent/guardians.
